Who am I?
My name is Jon and I'm 24 years old. I was born and raised right outside of Oslo, Norway, and for a very long time my ultimate dream has been to become a professional pilot and make a living out of flying.
At the moment I'm a student at Phoenix East Aviation in Florida, living my dream, and getting the licenses and experience I need to give this career a flying start.
My background
Getting to realize that becoming a pilot isn't something out of reach didn't happen too long ago.
The first time I was in an airplane - at 3 or 4 years old - visiting the cockpit was something I had to do, and ever since then, getting on an airplane has always been an adventure in itself.
The Path
It was not until 2-3 years ago however, that I finally started researching possible pilot education options. At first the idea was to get my licenses at a local FBO somewhere in the states while getting a 4-year degree and then in the end getting work as a pilot in the USA, but as the years passed a more local approach seemed like a better idea. Now I'm a student at "Luftfartsskolen" which has an agreement with Phoenix East Aviation to educate pilots to gain valuable hours and experience.
